Country Living is a furniture manufacturer in Gusternhain, a small country town in the idyllic Westerwald, one hour north of Frankfurt. For the past 34 years the family business produces home accessories and design furniture in premium segment. The vision for Country Living to reintegrate young people from adverse circumstances began in Canada where the young cabinet maker Burkhard Wendel met his wife, a student of art and literature. This vision continues as they produce products in Germany with a devotion to originality, quality and finesse.

Alwin Wendel developed this space-saving wonder in the 1960’s. While cleaning shop this past fall his son, Burkhard Wendel, discovered a version of the pull-out table built into a sideboard and decided to revive the old design. And so we celebrate a modern adaptation of a family treasure, ALWIN’S ROOM & BOARD – a mobile, modular system consisting of storage space and the legendary pull-out table element.
